Student IT Services

Dear CIT Students,

Welcome to CIT, Please find enclosed a summary of the IT services you will find here in CIT. Many of these services are still evolving and many are in their first year, so we welcome your feedback and patience.
To use the IT services in CIT, it is essential that you are properly registered as a student. You need to do this with Admissions; all of your IT accounts and services are automatically generated once you are registered.

  • All new students will receive their account details on registration, along with their student card. Each new student will also receive a letter from the Banner Office with their BANNER PIN.
  • All existing students will receive an email from the Banner Office with their new login details and PIN.

Many of your IT services will initially be accessed using this PIN, after which you will be asked to change your password.

It is critical that you register fully and keep your login details private. Without a CIT student card you will not be able to use the college’s IT services or avail of our IT support.

PC Account Login

Used to log on to all PCs in CIT (Open Access, Labs, etc). Also used for wireless PC login and card printing.

Banner PIN; forced to change to a new password on first login.

Web for Student Login

Used to register for elective modules; accessing class timetables and results.

Banner PIN; forced to change to a new password on first login.

Blackboard

Used for online course notes and e-learning.

Initially your Banner PIN. This password is always the same as your Web for Student password.

Mycit Email

Student email system.

Banner PIN; forced to change to a new password on first login.
