Student IT Services

To all students,

Here in IT Services we're moving towards enabling access to all online CIT services through a secure single password system.

If you don't plan to attend class in CIT in the coming year but require access to your email. You can . To access your email account use username@mycit.ie and your original email password here

If you are returning to class in September, please read on to find out how you can enable single password access to all web applications you will need in the coming year.

To enable a single password for all these services, please login to your Web for Student account here

You will immediately be prompted to change your password. We also strongly suggest that you enter a security question and answer that will allow you to reset your password in the future, If you have already done this, there is no need to do it again.


Within 15 minutes, your new password will enable access to your @mycit.ie email account. The new password will also be the one you should use for access to your PC login, Blackboard and Card Topup accounts.

Please note, until you change your password in Web for Student nothing happens. As soon as you change your Web for Student password, the new password goes live on all Web applications within 15 minutes.

Please find enclosed a summary of the IT services you will find here in CIT. Many of these services are still evolving and many are in their first year, so we welcome your feedback and patience.
To use the IT services in CIT, it is essential that you are properly registered as a student. You need to do this with Admissions; all of your IT account details and services are automatically generated once you are registered.

  • All new students will receive their account details on registration, along with their student card. Each new student will also receive a letter with their Student number & Web for student PIN.

Many of your IT services will initially be accessed using this PIN, on first login you will be asked to change your password/pin.

It is critical that you register fully and keep your login details private.

Without a CIT student card you will not be able to use the college’s IT services or avail of our IT support.
